Storgrid Launches “Zero Knowledge Encryption”

The StorGrid Zero Knowledge Encryption solution delivers a unique, flexible approach to security, enabling customers to encrypt, manage and control sensitive data over mobile devices and 3rd party storage without any hassle.

Oud Gastel,—November 10, 2015— Byelex Data Solutions BV, the company behind the world’s most advanced enterprise file sync and share (EFSS) software called StorGrid, today announced a new solution for encryption. The solution will enable top-level security without having to educate end-users on the complex issues involving modern encryption.  Zero Knowledge Encryption from StorGrid is a part of StorGrid 2.8, the latest version of the company’s flagship enterprise file sync and share (EFSS) solution.  Zero Knowledge Encryption features a new set of encryption capabilities that redefines EFSS security, making it easier and more secure for organizations tasked with protecting sensitive information to seamlessly collaborate and share files over mobile devices.

Zero Knowledge Encryption is a groundbreaking new approach to encryption based on industry standards like AES 256 and ABE (Attribute Based Encryption) that will allow customers to select their most preferable encryption scheme depending on their needs. Customers can choose from 4 types of Encryption Schemes. (1) “CompleteSecure”, where data is encrypted in rest on the server, encrypted in transit, and encrypted on mobile devices. (2) “ServerSecure”, where data is encrypted only on the server side, and when in Transit, (3) “MobileSecure”, where data is only encrypted on mobile devices and when in Transit, and last, but not least, (4) “TransportSecure”, where data is only encrypted when in Transit.  StorGrid is the only enterprise file sync and share solution to provide this level of modular encryption, which can be dynamically implemented into a customers’ existing infrastructure.

“Zero Knowledge Encryption from StorGrid has set a new security standard for EFSS,” said Herman Vissia, CEO of Byelex. “End-users are increasingly expecting universal file access from their enterprise IT departments, and that means being able to access files from any device, anywhere at any time in order to collaborate. At the same time, IT administrators are being tasked with keeping that data secure in the face of mounting security threats connected with File Sync & Share solutions, like MITC attacks (Man In The Cloud), ” continued Vissia.  Features like Zero Knowledge Encryption are precisely the types of functionalities that make life easier for both the end-user and IT administrators, making StorGrid a genuine win-win for our customers.”

Organizations that must share confidential data internally and externally rely on StorGrid on-premise enterprise file sync and share platform. Only StorGrid gives IT the visibility and control required to manage sensitive data, preserve business processes and integrate with existing infrastructures while offering users the modern collaboration experience they demand.
Zero Knowledge Encryption will be available as from December 2015.
